Psychological Instability Associated with Work

Cities and towns are associated with countless activities. Most offices and industries are located within towns, and therefore people roaming around the streets is not unusual. Work without proper rest to reflect on what to do next leads to mental related instabilities and disorders.
The first criterion that is conspicuous in the image is the zebra crossing across the road. Even though the traffic is clear, people can only cross the road at the zebra crossing. Zebra crossing gives people the confidence of crossing without fear of being run over by passing vehicles. The zebra crossing is captured and occupies almost half of the picture. This results in logos interpretation. Motorists are expected to stop at this point in order to allow pedestrians to cross over. This implies that, at times, one needs to step back or slow down to allow others to accomplish their tasks. Continuous working without spending time with loved ones, for example, family and friends, could lead to constraint to no relationship. The specific traffic sign pops up as a reminder that everybody needs to stop at some point and reflect on their relationships with others and their lives in general despite the tussle and bustle of city life.
Patience presents the image’s ethos in the following way; pedestrians have to wait for the oncoming coming cars to stop for them to cross over. Depending on the time, date, and other physical elements like weather conditions, the waiting time could be increased or reduced. The waiting and patience represent the hope of every worker of better days to come. The sign also represents an opportunity for people to cross over and explore other aspects of their lives. The sign symbolizes the famous phrase that opportunity knocks at ones’ door once. Workers are encouraged to put their best in whatever work they find themselves in.
The second criterion for evaluating the image is the blurry image of the city skyscrapers and buildings. The blurry vision of the city’s infrastructure stirs up the emotion of exhaustion of a busy worker or the exhaustion from the noise associated with industries and traffic in the city. The image shows the building to be blurry, which means that the infrastructures no longer fascinates the busy worker. People are determined to reach their places of work in time, and in so doing, they miss out on the details of the building and advertisements on the buildings. The blurriness of the buildings also reflects on the reduced focus of people working in cities. Workers work based on routine as opposed to working towards specific goals and achievements. The issue is brought about by a lack of self-drive and passion in one’s field of work.
The image applies logic, emotion, and ethics to illustrate cities’ beauty, work, and the psychological discomforts associated with city life. The image indicates the mental state of people living and working in cities and the stress associated with work. The image prompts the provocation of education’s importance to workers on ways to relieve themselves from stress and find time to interact and develop relationships with their loved ones.
