M3W5-description of your clinical issue of interest.

Answer
The clinical issue guides the development of the question since it demonstrates the reason or need for intervention. The issue identified was medical errors.
This is followed by the formulation of the PICOT statement in general terms, which involves listing keywords of the question, i.e., P (Patient/Population, I-Intervention, C-Control/Comparison, O-Outcome/Objective and Finally T-Time frame (Riva et al., 2012). Below is the PICOT question formation structure of the chosen clinical issue;
P-Inpatient setup
I-Use of computerized provider order entry and clinical decision support systems
C-Manual (paperwork) handling of patient data.
O-Increased quality of care with reduced patient readmission, adverse drug reactions, and overall cost of care.
T-six months
The final part involved combining all aspects of PICOT information
The identified question: Does the use of computerized provider order entry (CPOE) with clinical decision support systems (CDSS)(I) reduce the degree of occurrence of medical errors in inpatient setups (P), resulting in increased quality and cost of care (O) as compared to the traditional use of manual paperwork procedures (C) when applied in a six months’ timeframe?

Four Key databases were used in the identification of articles:
PubMed- Provides resources from MEDLINE and other National Library of Medicine. It provides resources from the 1960s to present
CINAHL- It has vast literature, majorly in nursing, and allied health. Not all resources available are peer-reviewed.
COCHRANE- A collection of databases with independent scientific evidence that can be used in clinical treatment decisions; some of the databases include CDSR, DARE, CENTRAL, CMR, HTA, among others.
SCOPUS- This database provides 100% MEDLINE coverage with over 20,500 titles from publishers worldwide.
