Independent Practice
The consenting of advanced practice registered nurse to exercise private practice results in positive impacts on the healthcare of communities and the world at large. Independent practice is effective with the growing populations of clients who need access to patient care (Yang et al, 2017). The paper describes the people and resources needed for one to start up independent practice as an advanced registered nurse.
Independent practice has been the ultimate goal of my education and training as a registered practice nurse. Obtaining permission to operate healthcare provision as a private nurse is quite difficult. Nursing practitioners do not have a full operating license to provide healthcare independently (Poghosyan, Liu and Norful, 2017). The first step in starting an independent practice is to collect financial resources to run the practice. The resources can be in the form of loans from the bank or grants from the government. Other forms of resources human resources are required for the smooth operation of the practice. Professional advisors are vital in operating a private clinic. I would hire a professional team to work with during the development plan of private practice. The team would comprise of, financial advisor, an attorney for processing legal documents, insurance professional, tax expert and medical practitioners.
Technological resources provide help in operating a new practice. I would identify the digital tools needed to start and manage the practice. Some of the tools would include modern computers, electrical health records for recording data, creation of social media account for advertising for clients.
Building partnership is important in starting a private practice. One way of building a partnership is by joining professional association membership. A good example of a medical association is AANP. The organization provides annual conferences whereby members interact and discuss the current health advancement, employment opportunities and ways to improve healthcare.

Question
If you were planning to open an independent practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, think about the financial and other resources that you would need to run your practice. How would you determine who could best assist you during your first year in private practice? Also, describe the specific resources you would need to start and maintain a practice. Lastly, how would you build partnerships in the community? For example, some APRNs meet with medical staff at a critical care access hospital to introduce themselves and become a potential contact for referral services (to assure them you will refer to them and that you hope they will refer to you). Use references as needed. Useful resources are the Medicare, Medicaid, and/or HIPAA websites, which may give insights on how to set-up your own practice.
