EMPLOYEE TESTING, INTERVIEWING AND SELECTION
Interviewing Employee Selection
Every organization has a unique set of conducts and culture. Culture is a specific norm of beliefs, behaviors that hold an organization together. Culture fit in companies improves the quality of work and productivity. This paper describes the actions to be taken in the recruitment and selection of the most suitable applicant.
The hiring of cultural fit increases the chances of success of an organization. The process of employing culturally fit applicants involves several actions. The first step is to check an applicant’s work history. Work history reveals to the employer the skills gained and the working environment one was placed in (Warrick 2017). Through the interview, one needs to ensure that the selected candidate is not prone to vices that contradict the organizational values such as corruption and conflicts.
The personal goals of a candidate should mesh effectively with that of the organization culture. During the assessment, identify whether the candidate has the same goals in life as the organization. Recruiters can evaluate by directly asking the applicant their goals and where they see themselves in a few years (Ramdhani, Ramdhani and Ainissyifa 2017). Candidates who wish to be in a different field should not be considered as likely to leave after soon afterwards.
In conclusion, standardized assessment can be used to determine the cultural fitness of an applicant. Assessment questionnaires and tests could be employed to assess the alignment of the candidate with the organization (Groysberg, Lee, Price and Cheng 2018). The questions should focus on the three leading dimensions of an organizations culture. They include leadership views, strategy for success and teamwork capabilities. Culture fit assessment is, therefore, the most important traits to look for when recruiting permanent employees.
