Employee Engagement
What experience have you had with organizations supporting an engaging environment?
The experience that I have had with the organization that supports an engaging environment is motivation to stay committed to the organizational goals. The organizations invest a lot of effort to align employees to their objectives by creating team spirits at the workplace (Osborne and Hammoud, 2017). They ensure that every employee’s action contributes to the final success, which makes employees feel supported. Also, a team-focused work atmosphere creates an emotional commitment that drives employees to work hard hence enhanced productivity.
What examples have you seen or heard that has helped foster a culture where employees are engaged in their jobs?
Employee Engagement
There are several ways to foster workplace engagement that I have come across. First, organizations need to know their employees at personal levels. Realizing employee’s personal goals, backgrounds and families is vital in creating a dynamic work environment since they feel valued (Jain-Link et al., 2020). Again, identifying and providing tools necessary for success is significant. The tools ensure that employees are well versed with their tasks hence a strong foundation that fosters an engaging work environment. Periodic reporting about the organization’s performance can also enable an engaging workplace. Employees feel updated about their outcome, celebrate their success, and identify their weak areas hence develop innovative ideas to improve their performance. Lastly, giving employees to develop their talents and abilities fosters an engaging workplace. The employees are determined to learn more and boost their confidence in achieving personal and organizational goals.
Share one strategy or example that you believe can foster an engaging environment in the workplace.
I believe upholding an organization’s core values is the best strategy to foster an engaging work environment. Notably, the company’s core values describe the concepts that will enable the team to achieve the companies goals (SHRM, 2019). The values foster a sense of belonging amongst employees, creating cohesion and emotional commitments and ultimately an engaging workplace. This strategy has been applied in IntelePeer, a communications platform in Colorado, to complete an engaging workplace.
