Amanda Archer has strong conviction with evidence that the Incredibles Movie is underrated. It portrays themes that are of mature audiences in a manner which can be enjoyable to both kids and adults. It is clearly stated and situated as The Incredibles has a lot of violent scenes than in any other kid-targeted animated series. The presence of different kinds of weapons, deaths, wide-spread destruction among others. For instance, an adult man tries to commit suicide through jumping off a building. This action is then disputed in court where this man is allowed to carry out his plan.
In general, Amandas thesis is that this film should carry a more higher rating due to the violence (that is particularly aimed at children) and sexual innuendos and undertones. It is further presented at the end of the paragraph with support from the body of the article with examples which is effective. It might be extremely helpful for her to identify which type of PG or PG 13 she is talking about.
Amanda Archer uses the message of the film as the criteria to send the viewers of varying ages and mental processing abilities. She provides specific examples related to each aspect of criteria. The Pathos is not explicitly established because we are not sure of her expertise. She doesn’t say whether she is a film expert, a parent or an educator. The logos is given as Amanda gives specific instances form the film while explaining their connection to her thesis. An instance of Ethos is when she explains to a degree when she references situations in which children and parents might react which could be worse.

Initial Post Instructions
This discussion has two parts.
Read the following in your textbook: “Adventures in Crime” by Amanda Archer (pp. 272-273). In complete sentences and with depth and detail, answer the following:
What is the single, overall evaluation Archer is making (her thesis, her purpose, the overall idea she wishes the reader to understand)? Is it clearly and effectively stated and situated? Why or why not?
What specific criteria does Archer use to evaluate her subject? Are these clearly presented? Explain.
Where do you see Archer using and/or addressing logos, pathos, and ethos? Be clear in noting one instance of each.
Next, begin work on your own evaluative essay by thinking and writing about your chosen image, your criteria for evaluation, your purpose, and your rhetorical appeals.
Post three possible powerful images, including a link below each to credit their source. Keep in mind that these are not random images we pull from online or from a magazine; these must be important in some way, something iconic, famous, and/or used for a purpose, such as selling a product in a unique way.
Note which image you feel you will likely evaluate in your essay and provide a sentence or two discussing what you hope to prove, what your purpose will be.
List 2-3 criteria by which you will evaluate your image.
Note one element of logos, one of ethos, and one of pathos present in your image.
